How it works
Updated on 5 October 2026
Programme in preparation. No service is open to the public at this stage. This page describes how the programme is designed to work.
Malak will add a right to reward to your electronic payments, without changing the way you pay. Here is the planned journey, from sign-up to payout.
The journey in six stages
- Create an account. A verified phone number and your CIN number, kept encrypted.
- Give your consents. Two separate screens, one for banking secrecy and one for your personal data, with an unticked box each time. The health sector will have a distinct, optional choice.
- Link a card. On a page hosted by the tokenisation service, never on a Malak page. Your bank will confirm your identity, and the platform will receive only a token. You will be able to link 3 cards or means of payment at most.
- Designate a payout account. An account in your name, at the bank of your choice.
- Pay as usual. At an eligible merchant, by card or mobile QR payment. You will be notified as soon as the right is acquired.
- Follow your rights. Each right will go through four states: Acquired, Confirmed, Due, Paid.
The planned rates and caps
| Parameter | Planned value |
|---|---|
| Public rate | 1.75% of the amount paid |
| Mobile QR payment | 2.75% |
| Offer funded by a merchant | Up to 15% per transaction |
| Amount rewarded per transaction | From 20 DH to 5,000 DH |
| At the same merchant | 2 rewarded transactions a week and 150 DH a month |
| Overall monthly cap | 1,000 DH |
| Payout | On Friday, or on request from 50 DH due |
| Cost for citizens | None |
When a right becomes a payout
The right will be acquired when the payment is authorised. It will be confirmed at clearing, then fall due 7 full days later if the transaction was neither reversed nor refunded. Every Friday, the platform will prepare a technical statement of settlement of rights. The bank that will hold the programme account will make its own checks, then carry out the payouts. MALAK FINTECH will execute no payment.
A transaction that is reversed, refunded or left unpaid will reverse the right. If the right has already been paid, the amount will be carried forward and offset against your future rights.
The merchants concerned
The public rate will cover restaurants, health care, hairdressing and beauty, car servicing, specialist shops, legal and accounting professions and dry cleaning. Large retail brands will be excluded, as will fuel, large supermarkets and telecoms. The merchants concerned will have nothing to install and nothing to sign for the public rate to apply.
The shared map
The map will show, with dated facts, where card payment has been observed.
| Pin | What it will indicate |
|---|---|
| Green | A card payment was observed on this date |
| Gold | The merchant accepts cards and has a Malak Pro offer |
| Red | A card refusal was reported by several users in the last 30 days |
| Neutral | A contest is under review, or no information is available |
A red pin will take at least 3 concurring reports, from different people close to the shop. Reports will be free and unpaid, limited to 3 a week per person, and they will expire after 30 days. An observed card payment will turn the pin green again at once. Any merchant will be able to contest: the pin will be neutralised during the review, and the decision will come within 72 hours.
No rule requires a merchant to accept cards. The shared map will report facts and pass no judgement.
For merchants
Malak Pro is the space planned for merchants who want to go further: making a public offer they fund themselves, following their aggregated figures, replying to a report and filing their supplier invoices. A merchant will never see a customer's identity.
