About Malak

Updated on 5 October 2026

Programme in preparation. No service is open to the public at this stage.

Malak is a reward programme designed for Morocco. It aims to give the person paying a simple reason to choose electronic payment, without changing anything in their habits at the till. The project is carried by MALAK FINTECH.

Where we start from

Many people hold a bank card and still settle their everyday purchases in cash. At the moment of payment, nothing rewards choosing the card. Existing loyalty schemes usually stop at one retail brand, and ask the merchant to buy equipment or sign up.

Malak starts from the other end of the chain: the person paying. It relies on the means of payment they already hold, at merchants who already accept them.

What we are building

  • A right to reward. 1.75% on eligible payments, 2.75% on a mobile QR payment, free of charge for citizens.
  • A shared map. It will show where card payment has been observed, with dated facts and no judgement.
  • Malak Pro. A space planned for merchants who want to make an offer, follow their presence on the map and document their VAT.

What we are not

MALAK FINTECH is not a bank. It takes no funds from the public, provides no card and no stored value, and executes no payment. Its role will be that of a technical operator: calculating rights, recording them in a technical register and producing a technical statement of settlement of rights. Payouts will be carried out by a bank, from an account that MALAK FINTECH will neither own nor sign for.

Nor will the platform take part in your payments. It will be informed of them afterwards, read-only. If it stopped, your card would go on working as before.

Our principles

  • Little data. A token instead of the card number, and only the information needed to calculate rights.
  • Data in Morocco. Hosting is planned in Morocco, backups included.
  • Facts, not accusations. No rule requires a merchant to accept cards. The shared map will show what has been observed or reported, and every merchant will have a right of reply.
  • Decisions that can be checked. Each right will be recalculable from the original transaction and the version of the rules in force.
  • Human review. No adverse measure will be taken on the basis of an automatic calculation alone.

Where the project stands

MALAK FINTECH is preparing the programme. The service is not open, no sign-up is possible and this site collects no personal data. The pages of this site describe what is planned, and the announced parameters may change before any opening.
